McLymont Creek Hydroelectric Project – Bob Quinn, BC

Selway Corporation fabricated 1450’ of steel penstock to this run-of-river project located in northern British Columbia. The 1” thick plate was rolled in-house and delivered in 50’ cans to the job site by our Selway fleet of heavy-haul trucks and drivers.

Selway also built the high-pressure manifold and header pipes from steel plate in sizes up to 3” thick. The largest of these pieces weighed nearly 106,000 pounds. Our experienced transportation team safely delivered these extraordinary loads to the jobsite without incident (a distance of 1200 miles).

Post-weld heat treating, radiographic weld inspection, and a complex polyurethane coating system were additional requirements of the job.
